    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    What you’ll do:


    Mattersight is looking for a Monitoring Platform Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Service Operations division within Mattersight’s Service Delivery group.


    The Monitoring Platform Engineer will be working closely with our Development and Product Management teams to integration Product monitoring requirements into our monitoring platform.  This position will be responsible for development and integration of event processes to continuously improve the operation and delivery of Mattersight solutions.  The position reports into the Senior Director, Service Assurance and Architecture.


    Individuals in the Monitoring Platform Engineer role are responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

    • Development and Administration of the ScienceLogic EM7 Platform including:
      • Power Packs
      • Dynamic Applications
      • Event Policies
      • Run-book Automation
      • External Platform Integration 

    What you definitely have:


    The ideal candidate for this position will have 5-10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a fast paced & challenging environment. Additional requirements include:

    • 3+ years of Monitoring Platform Support and Engineering experience
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues
    • Experience with enterprise architecture domains
    • Experience with enterprise software application support
    • Exceptional communication skills to include technical and business concepts
    • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
    • Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities
    • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training
    • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
    • Customer service attitude, focused on delivering value to clients and team
    • Highly motivated individual with a sense of urgency and ownership
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent 

    Knowledge of the Following Technologies: 

    • Python, WinRM, Powershell, and SNMP
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2016 operating systems
    • Linux operating systems
    • Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP and SSO technologies 

    Preferred Skills:


    • Experience developing dynamic applications within the ScienceLogic (EM7) Monitoring platform
    • Working knowledge of all the components in a web application stack.
      • Server, network, and hosting environment
      • Security concerns throughout the platform
    • Call Center telephony experience
    • ITIL Foundational Certification

    Mattersight seeks candidates authorized to work without sponsorship in the United States.  The Monitoring Platform Engineer role will be based out of EITHER Mattersight’s Edina, MN or Austin, TX location.  Candidates should anticipate little to no travel.
