    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Who you are:


    Are you intrigued by selling best-in-class solutions in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning category? Would you like to further bolster your sales eminence through an account based selling approach? Do you relish the opportunity to not only execute but shape the prospecting process? Then we might have a great opportunity for you!


    You have built a successful track record in B2B (Inside) Sales and demonstrated a particular knack for navigating complex hierarchies in Fortune 1000 companies, getting through gate keepers and securing meetings with executive decision makers. You are self-motivated with a strong bias for action and a high degree of accountability. You possess bird dog instincts for spotting opportunity and creatively combine tried & trusted telephone and email outreach with social selling techniques to successfully engage attention challenged executives. You know how to team with Marketing and Field Sales to deliver a compelling first impression and maximize chances of converting prospects into clients.


    What you’ll do: 

    • Shape business development strategy and processes targeting both existing and prospective clients
    • Guide research staff in blueprinting target accounts and identifying key decision makers
    • Set up sales appointments with key decision makers by following up on marketing outreach as well as proactive calling
    • Drive and orchestrate sales appointment preparation in close collaboration with Product Marketing and Field Sales
    • Document, monitor, track, and report engagement of target accounts
    • Influence marketing outreach through ongoing input and feedback
    • Act as prospecting Subject Matter Expert and drive continuous process improvements

    What you definitely have:


    • Minimum 10 years of B2B Sales experience gained in technology, services, or consulting industries
    • Experience engaging executives at Director-level and up
    • Demonstrated success making quota in proactive sales environments
    • Strong accountability for results
    • Bachelor’s degree 

    What we’d also love to see:


    • Experience selling to decision makers in Call Center Operations and/or Customer Experience roles
    • Experience selling to complex buying teams in large enterprise organizations
    • Salesforce.com user experience
    • Strong communication and teaming skills

    Eligibility & Location


    Mattersight seeks candidates authorized to work in the United States. The Business Development Manager role will be based out of Mattersight’s Chicago, IL location.  Candidates should anticipate very little travel
