Responsibilities & Qualifications

Who you are:


On a journey to become an innovative, results-oriented marketing leader. Someone who has acquired both academic knowledge and relevant work experience and is now ready to start performing at a higher level of accountability. In this position, you will focus on gaining hands-on experience within the discipline of product marketing. You will play a crucial part in developing the key messages and content that will drive sales growth. Working in a fast-paced, medium-sized organization (~250 people in total); you will have a lot of opportunity to experiment, which comes with a healthy dose of responsibility.


What you’ll do:


In this role, you will report to the Sr. Director of Product Marketing, who will act as a coach and a mentor to help you gain experience with the following marketing initiatives:


  • Strengthen and refine messaging and value propositions for the product/solution portfolio, customized by industry vertical;
  • Develop C-suite content that explains how Mattersight solutions improve P&L performance and Customer Experience (CX), at scale, for Fortune 500 enterprises;
  • Contribute to content library serving internal and external customers;
  • Collaborate with sales & the marketing research team to understand the market, our customers/prospects and buying personas;
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop tools and content supporting the selling process;
  • Learn and leverage Mattersight’s unique, linguistic-based personality model in order to make your communications highly-tailored and deeply-resonant.


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Demonstrable passion for marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Learner mindset
  • Responsible and accountable
  • 4-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Able to execute on work responsibilities from our Chicago office

In addition to the above, ideal candidates will possess one or more of the following:

  • MBA degree with a focus in marketing highly preferred
  • Releveant work experience in the software (SaaS) space
